Light is important for any photographic endeavor and at times sunlight or ambient light just isn’t enough. Direct sunlight may not be flattering for your subject or fit the composition. How a Speedlight can help if you need to take photographs on an overcast day, at dusk or dawn to be more creative, or a family group photo in a dark room. Speedlight’s (on camera flash) can give you the additional light to create high-quality photos and fulfill your artistic vision. Dennis Biela’s presentation will cover helpful information on ways to use your flash whether beginner or a season user.

Some of the topics covered:

  • Types of Flash Manual or TTL
  • What is Sync Speed; do I need to use it?
  • On-Camera vs Off-Camera Flash
  • Wireless Flash Controls
  • The wonderful Flash Modifiers available for small flash units

During the 2nd portion of the class attendees will be given the opportunity to use new skills to photograph several still life settings.  No flash? No problem, several different models will be on hand for you to try out.
